Wendy’s 3conomics campaign jumping on the bandwagon

The Wendy’s 3conomics commerical campaign is really trying to milk the whole economic spin a little to much for me.  It was ok when the Freakonomics book came out since it was new and was the first play on words that I remember with the word economics.  Then there was Wikinomics, another book playing on the word economics.  I was fine with this one too, but now with Wendy’s doing a major nation wide advertising campaign with a bandwagon idea is pretty disappointing.   I don’t know what advertising agency they paid to come up with the Wendy’s 3conomics campaign but I am pretty sure a 1st year college student could come up with something much better.  Maybe some of you like the ads, but you have to agree that it is not creative or original.

It’s not original. But it’s effective and memorable, and the ads are funny.

Seamus, I would agree that it has an upbeat comedic attitude towards the economy, I just prefer original advertising instead of buzzword or fad advertising. Your opinion could be the same as the majority of viewers, so maybe they made a good choice with their campaign.
